Time for a website facelift.
I’ve been running 24bit.dk in its current form for a while, but it’s starting to feel a bit outdated — and let’s be honest, nobody likes an old pair of shoes that have lost their grip.
So here’s the deal: 24bit V3 is in the works.
At first, I had my eyes on ETCH as the builder of choice for WordPress. It’s promising, experimental, and has that fresh-out-the-oven vibe. But after poking around with it, I came to the conclusion that it’s not quite ready for primetime. Think of it like an exciting synth still in beta — fun to mess with, but not something you’d rely on during a live set.
That means plan B (or maybe plan A.2): Bricksbuilder v2.
Bricks has matured into one of the strongest WordPress builders out there — fast, flexible, and no-nonsense. It’s not perfect, but it’s the closest thing to “getting out of my way so I can just build” that I’ve found.
The mission with V3 is more than just swapping out tools, though. I’ll also be rethinking what the site needs going forward — features, structure, and a better overall flow. A fresh coat of paint isn’t enough; the foundation has to feel solid too.
What to Expect from V3
Here’s what I’m planning to bring into the next version of 24bit.dk:
- Cleaner navigation: Easier to find plugin reviews, production tips, and resources. No more digging through a messy archive.
- Better blog flow: Posts will be structured around categories like production tips, plugin reviews, workflows, and opinions — so you know what you’re in for.
- Gear & plugin reviews: Honest, to-the-point writeups (without the marketing fluff).
- Production workflows: Real-life examples from my own sessions in Ableton Live, including racks, templates, and creative setups.
- Resource hub: A dedicated section for tools, downloads, and links that actually make your production life easier.
- Newsletter option: For those who want updates straight in the inbox instead of relying on chance encounters on social media.
Basically: less clutter, more useful content.
And yes, there’s a deadline: the updated site will go live by the end of 2025.
Ambitious? Sure. Achievable? Absolutely.
Until then, expect a mix of behind-the-scenes updates, plugin talk, production tips, and maybe a few rants about why certain tools still can’t get their act together.
Stay tuned — 24bit V3 is coming.
